A guide to the typical U.S. shelf price of 260 everyday items, grouped by aisle. These are the same reference prices used in the Shelf Price game.
Thirteen of the items use U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics average price data. The rest are editorial estimates. See the methodology for exactly how each number is produced and where it can be off. Prices are national averages for common versions of each item, not what any single store charges today.
